Completely Lost... Completely

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get off of the first screen. I can't even figure out how to access the menu! I had to cntrl-alt-del to get out of the game. I tried pushing esc and the spacebar, no go.

I get to the beginning (the bridge/painter) talk to him but um... Now what?

I swear I'm not usually so clueless.

torny, welcome to the Fish Pond. I had a hard time getting this one off the ground as well. Here's what I wrote in my notes. talk to the painter then walk around and look at everything. talk to painter again and get picture. Right click on picture. Examine statue and get message. Call Francois. Hope that helps get you started.
...Oh, I think access to the menu for this one is in the upper right corner.

Just so you know, if you move the mouse to the top right corner above the whole picture a set of gears will show up, this is the menu. You can save and exit from here.

Geez...I'm having the same problem as you. I have talked to the painter several times, gotten the painting, read the pedestal and statue info but cannot go, call or do anything else. What's next?

Right click on the statue. read the note. call the professor.

How do I get the picture? I have the wallet and cellphone.I tried clicking on the wallet to pay for the picture and that didn't work.I have talked to the artist 2 times,but can't get the picture from him. HELP! I'm not usually this dense, but this already has me knashing my teeth!

After you click on the picture and talk to the artist you need to look around and look at other things. Then click on the picture again. The artist should tell you she left a note at the statue. You don't actually get the picture. the important clue is that a note is on the statue. find and read note and then talk to the professor.
