Game won't start - Vista x64

[Post New]by Mr_Russ on Aug 23, 09 7:49 AM
The game is activated, but nothing happens when I click on Play now.
I have both direct x 9 and 10 on this machine and I've tried turning Norton (anti virus and firewall) off but no joy.

I'll probably have to get in touch with BFG, but does anyone have any ideas / solutions first?

Maybe the game did not install properly or completely. Uninstall and install to either the C:\Nancy Drew\ folder or C:\Program Files\Nancy Drew\ folder. Direct 9 should be fine for this game.

I have Vista but it's 32 bit and it started without any problems.

I've thought along those lines too. I've deleted the game and I'm redownloading with Norton anti-virus and firewall off. I'll turn them back on once I've done the install.

My game .exe was 1.8 MB. Running as administrator and compatability mode made no difference, so it may well have been corrupt.

Edit: no joy. BFG are helping with this now.

Edit 2: resolved but I'm not completely happy about it. This game will only run if installed to C:\Program Files\Nancy Drew. I don't believe in data in an OS partition and all of my other games are D:\Program Files.
