The trick with the coordinates is to put both coordinates together at the same point on the map and then click on that one spot.
Good luck!

Look at the map and visually divide the map into four quarters.
The Prime Meridian is the vertical line that would run from north to south in the center of the map. The Equator is the horizontal line that would run from east to west in the center of the map.
If your first number has a negative sign it would be on the west of the Prime Meridian. If it does not have a negative sign then it would be on the east of the Prime Meridian.
If your second number has N behind it will be north of the Equator. If your second number has S behind it will be south of the Equator.
If your numbers are 90, 64N and there is no negative sign in front of the 90, then your coordinates are in the North East (upper right) quarter of the map.
The trick with the coordinates is to put both coordinates together at the same point on the map and then click on that one spot.
Good luck!

Jeni, welcome to the Fish Pond. Do you know how to read a map ... or a Road Atlas? If you look up a city it may say it's located at C9 on the map. That means you find Column C and run your finger down until you are on the 9 coordinate.
... Does that help?

Hi Jeni,
When you run your cursor over the map there are always two coordinates showing at the tip of your cursor. They change as you move your cursor. You have to move your cursor to the place on the map where the two coordinates you got from the books will match the ones that are showing beside your cursor. Good luck!

Can anyone out there help me? I tried Lizzie's suggestion and centered in on the two codes. Ex: 162 and 24S.
162 (left number/West) 1 1/2 inch gap 24S (right number/East)
Clicked all the way from 162.0 over to 24.0 with no luck.
Thanks so much.
