I was stuck on it for ages.... I am sure that I was clicking in the right place each time.... and then suddenly it worked... I think that it was sooooo touchy and as you click perhaps the cursor moves off the location you are after....
Also... if the first number is -38 for example... then it's a minus number... thats not just a dash I might be stating the obvious there..... but it did trip me up for a while.

Look at the map and divide the map into four quarters.
The Prime Meridian is the vertical line that would run from north to south in the center of the map. The Equator is the horizontal line that would run from east to west in the center of the map.
If your first number has a negative sign it would be on the west of the Prime Meridian. If it does not have a negative sign then it would be on the east of the Prime Meridian.
If your second number has N behind it will be north of the Equator. If your second number has S behind it will be south of the Equator.
So if your numbers are 74, 18S and there is no negative sign in front of the 74, then your coordinates are in the South East (lower right) quarter of the map.
The trick with the coordinates is to put both coordinates together at the same point on the map and then click on that one spot.
Good luck!
