Only tool is matches - help,please

I am in the dark room and the only tool/hint is 'use the matches'. The first match I got I used on the wall lamp to light but after that I keep getting matches but nothing lights up.
Any hints out there?

There are two lamps to light. One on the back wall on the right and the other on the left side wall. I think you have to light them both.
