Can anyone awnser this

I have just watched the trailer for the dream chronicles series and i am just wondering do you have to play the first one to be able to understand the others or are the all completely separate story's. Thanks in advance.

There is an underlying story to the game but each game can be played without having played the others. You probably just won't get the story line is all.

Think of it as kinda like the original Star Wars trilogy. They were certainly interconnected, but each was just fine stand alone as well. In fact, make that: "Dream Chronicles is like Star Wars, but better."
