My newly painted bedroom! (and painting in general...)

[Post New]by eleanor1183 on Sep 17, 09 7:35 AM
Okay, we bought the paint August 1st and I finally got done last week.

However, it's just gorgeous and I love it.

Pictures available for those interested at my myspace homepage.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, they're in an album labeled "Redecorating" in "pics".

Just go to their main homepage and add /eleanor1183 at the end of the address line. (only one / needed between the ".com" and "eleanor1183"...)

Details of the project are also available there in my blogs.

Now to go out west and start a project in that house.

Anybody who owns a home never lacks for things to do, and when you own two, that goes double !

It is the bane of my existence that the things I love doing the most are unbelievably difficult for me to do because of my physical ailments. That's why it took three weeks to get one room done - I can only work for a few minutes at a time - half hour, tops - before I have to stop and rest up for an hour or more. Limit of about two hours worth of total work for the day.

But I dearly love painting walls and woodwork; have ever since I was a little kid.

I'd love to do your house, but I have two of my own to finish first.

I wouldn't attempt to paint a wall, my painting is limited to canvas, I have solid colors perfected, making them look like something, well that's another story

I too prefer canvas.

I can slap paint on walls in houses, love doing it....but chosing the colours etc that is a different matter.

Eleanor maybe I should swim over to your side of the pond and do the donkey work (sorry no offence to donkeys) and you can do the design side of it.

princess, you qualify as an artist!

In the Metropolitan Museum of Art there is a painting that is a large canvas with the top half painted orange and the bottom half painted black. That's all.

And at their web site you can buy a print of this famous painting...for $4,500.

I'm not kidding and no, I didn't add any digits - four thousand five hundred dollars for a print of a painting that's just an orange and black rectangle.

Talk about a license to print money...

Hi Eleanor, congrats on finishing your project. I remember you posted in my thread about it. I did check out your pictures. Love the plump little birds!! Looks like you did a great job. Hope you have time to enjoy it for a while before you head to your other place.

Thanks, cesse!

I only have a few more days to bask in the calming ambiance of the new bedroom before we head out, but it will be waiting for me when I come back in November.
