glitch in stage 8, level 1

Not far into the level, as I was taking Supercow back to the left after the doghouse and a couple of up and down moving platform areas, I mistimed a jump over yet another moving platform and fell down, down through space, thinking I would end up impaled on wooden spikes somewhere below. But instead, I ended up stuck on the side of a rock mountain just above the exit capsule and two flying bats and I couldn't get out of it. I could run to left and right, but couldn't budge from the rock trap. Had to "escape" out of the game and start the level all over. Has anyone found any other glitches in this game?

So far that is the only one I'm stuck on and I've had to restart three times now as I always seen to end up in that small area of rocks. Has anyone found a way out of the glitch?
