Glitch with moneylender?

Everytime I start a new game of Tradewinds Legends (using a Mac laptop, 2.2ghz, OSX) if I go to the moneylender and click on "max" under borrow, an astronomical number appears (it goes off the screen!) and if I click on max to repay, I get an astronomical negative number and it doesn't go away. Does anyone else have this problem? I have downloaded this game repeatedly and have the same problem. The only solution is to start another game and then type in a number (which depeats the purpose of having a "max" option).
