Hidden Expedition: Amazon

I am stuck at the level where you must find gears. I have found 4. I located all the hidden objects in this segment except fot the axe which is highlighted in blue. I can't find it. The hint shows a location but there is no axe there. Also I have found a bird,butterfly,snake,frog, & dragonfly but what's with the shapes?. I have restarted this level repeatedly but I am baffled. Can anybody help me advance??? karen
