I'M STUCK!!

I am stuck with bolt cutters, a light bulb and a gas can in my inventory. When I move my cursor over the boat it turns blue, but none of the items in the inventory will make anything happen!!!

Hi, Mysophie, welcome to the Pond. I think you have to cut the chain on the train with the bolt cutters, and there is a mini puzzle, that when completed will give you the oars for the boat. Good luck!
Edited: Have you tried a walkthrough? It's much more accurate.
