For those not sure about purchasing Syberia

[Post New]by U25150 on Oct 1, 09 2:54 AM
I'm not one to purchase a game without being able to test-drive it. I did find a trial version on another site.

The first thing I noticed were the beautiful graphics. While the controls (opening inventory) were odd at first, as soon as I realized left-click was the key I was on my way.

I wish there was a way to zoom through the dialog as I'm a fast reader but that's just a minor detail. I also wish there was a way to get Kate to walk faster, that too is a minor detail.

Overall, the game & story has me intrigued.

If you are into adventure games this will keep you busy. I have a habit of getting through this type of game rather quickly but I have a feeling this will keep me busy for a while at least.

I know this may not be the greatest review but for someone like myself, I always want to get others opinions before going in blindly.

So, I suggest, find a free trial online and see for yourself.

I am now off to download the full version from BFG.

Happy Gaming!

ETA: If you opt to download the game, I suggest having some chores, a crossword puzzle or errands to run while it's in process. This IS a large file. Even better, visit this thread http://forums.bigfishgames.com/posts/list/17797.page to familiarize yourself with the game controls.

There is a way to get Kate Walker to run. There's a topic about it in this forum. Double-click where you want her to end up.

Thanks Mr Russ but as you can see, I had already edited my post to include the thread for the game controls.

Regarding Syberia, I absolutely loved it! I'm wasting no time in downloading Syberia II right now.

A word of advice, save often. I had gotten so wrapped up in the game that when it froze on me I lost almost 2 hours of progress. It was a bit frustrating to say the least but it was definetly a lessoned learned. Albeit the hard way.

So, once you've accomplished a goal or have collected an item, SAVE!!!

I have been playing this game for a few weeks now! I have had to do the whole thing with a detailed walkthrough and it still took me that long, an hour or so at a time. It is like taking part in a movie - I would never have worked out what to do and in what order, but loved it anyway!! The details are fantastic. In one place, there is even a football match on a television in the background. Fantastic just to look at all the surroundings. Story is great. I'm going to look for Syberia 2 now, and then the walkthrough for it!
Good luck everybody

lynnmx ... that was my thought exactly after I finished S2. It was like a movie. Wait til you play S2.

It's been a long time that I found a game that I truly enjoyed. S1 & S2 were awesome! I can't wait until S3 is released next year.

I'm currently scrounging around BFG trying to find a game that's close to Syberia. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

S1 & S2 were the best purchases I made at BFG yet!!

Happy Gaming!

I just purchased and downloaded the game. I wanna give it a try before I go back to The Secrets of DaVinci. I love large file games but I've only played a few through to the end. I even enjoy wandering all about in an adventure game..LOL. I've been known to wander around topside as well..LOL

I got Syberia 1 the other day and just finished it. I totally loved it. It's challenging, the artwork is beautiful, the music is nice and the storyline is great. Well worth it -- although it's a good idea to save it every once in a while.

This is my first post and it's only fitting that it is on this subject!! I got hooked on Syberia when I purchased the cd a couple of years ago. Then I found Syberia II and enjoyed many, many more hours of play. Now, you say that there is to be a Syberia III?!!! I am definitely in heaven!! NOW, I can hardly wait! Geez, I AM NOT A PATIENT PERSON! But, I will def be one of the first one's to purchase the SIII !!!! I am sooooo stoked!!! YIPPEE!!!

Congrats on your first post, & welcome to the forums! I totally agree with you about the Syberia series!I got hooked on them, & am afraid I'll probably be paying top-dollar for S3, as I won't be patient enough to wait for BFG to get it. Can't wait till June!!!

Kate

I've just finished playing this game. I LOVED it ! I'm currently downloading Syberia 2. I can't wait to see where Kate's adventure takes her. The storyline is great. The graphics are great. I needed a walkthrough for quite a lot of it but that did not take away from the enjoyment of this game.

Misty ... make sure you have a box of kleenex handy ... just saying.

Glad to see others in the pond that share my love for the Syberia series.

I hope it's not a sad ending but I have a feeling that Hans dies. I hope I am wrong. I'm almost finished downloading Syberia 2. The journey continues!..LOL. I haven't been this excited about an adventure game in a while.
