LisaB19 wrote:Anyone play this one? So far 20 mintues into the demo, I still like it. Have tried the demo's on Amazing Adventure and P.I. the lottery ticket, but wasn't too impressed with them. Thanks ladies for the recommendation for Mortimer, it was a great game, just too short!!! Hope you are all having a nice Easter. Lisa
I love the Scruffs. It's a lot of fun except the rather bad jigsaws (think cheerful Ravenhearst). The family is nutty, the voices are well done and the ending is a real surprise. I am hoping for a Scruffs 2.

LisaB19 wrote:Oreo, what are these big file adventure's like?? I've seen Mysterious Island and Sherlock Holmes mentioned. Can't seem to really get a handle on what they are like.

Lisa--
Edna is probably a better source than I am, but let me try to give you some basic info. They are games where the gamer plays as a character: Sherlock Holmes, Nancy Drew, Carol Reed and other main characters. The character interacts with other characters and their environment.
As the character, you must talk to other characters, search the scenes, discover pieces of the puzzle and objects used to escape a room, solve a puzzle, etc. One game I saw recently, I think Voyage, the character had to generate oxygen or suffocate in a spaceship. Usually the actions are complicated and a wrong step may result in the character's death. The walkthroughs recommend doing a save game just before undertaking a dangerous task. That way if the character dies, you can start again from just before the task instead of the beginning.
Dream Chronicles and Azada though not officially sims play a little like sims. One difference is that the game path is not set. Each gamer must navigate through the game and perform a series of actions to solve the mystery.
If you like the demos then try a game from BFG. If you hate it, you're only out $6.99 - 9.99.

LisaB19 wrote:Well, finished the Scruff's, it was very enjoyable and I highly recommend it. Anyone know when BF is going to get Dream Chronicles 2?? I played the first one a while ago, can't remember where I got it though! The adventure games sound too hard for me, I couldn't get through Escape the Museum without hints!!!! Lordy, what to play next????? Lisa
Yeah, the Scruffs are good. I'm still hoping for installment 2 at Scrufford! Hey, as far as the sims and Escape the museum go, isn't that part of the fun--being challenged? Try some demos and if you decide you don't like them that's fine. But don't let how hard they are defeat you. Besides there are always walkthroughs out there for when you can't figure something out. Azada and Dream Chronicles are mini sims in a way. So if you like them, ask Edna for a recommendation of a few easier sims to begin trying. You may end up as hooked on them as she seems to be.
