Mac Version Issue - Game Automatically Goes to Last Level on Continue

[Post New]by Player_01 on Oct 1, 09 9:49 PM
The issue is that no matter where I exit and then quit the game when I launch the game again and agree to "Continue" playing where the game saved for me, it takes me to the last level "Crime Scene". The map also shows that I've been to all the other levels.

So effectually I can't play the game in multiple sessions and don't intend to play from start to finish in one session. A little help from BFG would be nice or my credit back. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. It automatically returns to the statue. I've played that statue scene a couple of times and there appears to be no way to go beyond it.

Having the same problem here. Don't know if it's caused by the demo version since I haven't bought the full game yet.

It's not just the demo. I purchased the full version, this is how I discovered it.

I quit the demo after playing a while to see if I wanted to buy the full game. After I input my registration info and started to play again, "Continue" it took me to the statue, which is apparently the last level so there's nothing beyond that.

I figured that it might be a reg. error so I deleted my player and started again from the beginning, played through several levels and then quit. When I went back to continue my game, there I was back at the statue again with all of the places on the map marked with various colored flags and the sheriff had all the medals you earn throughout the game, I'm assuming, pinned to his lapel.

Very frustrating.

Hopefully this issue is resolved soon, or refunds are issued. I haven't had much luck getting helpful responses from Big Fish Customer Support in the past. Games start out buggy and stay buggy.

I'm certain that we can get this fixed. It may take a little while, especially since this was discovered right before the weekend. But, I know that we will do what we can to get this resolved as quickly as we can.

My apologies..I thought it would take a little while to get a fix, but I was very wrong. We now have a new Mac version of Steve the Sheriff available now. This new version should correct the error with the game skipping to the end. You can find out more here:

Happy gaming!

Okay, I reinstalled the new release of the game. I started over from the beginning. I got a little ways into the game, then exited. Now when I go back it has me start over from the beginning! This is just as bad as starting at the end. So the "patch" isn't very helpful in my case. Anyone else have this issue?

That's happening for me, too -- it doesn't appear to be saving the game at all.

This is happening for me too. I downloaded the demo version again today and it is not saving my progress at all. I am trying to play on relaxed mode and it keeps going back to the beginning of the game.

I want to buy the game, but won't until I can "save" my progress. Thanks for your help BFG! And thanks for all the new Mac games that have been released!

This is happening for me too, I'm always taken back to the Sheriff's Office and have to start again. I'm also confused because when I click on the cigar to get a hint, nothing happens that I can see except that the cigar burns down, but no hint shows up that I'm aware of. Does anyone know what to look for with the hint???????

I have the same problem with the hint button. I can't see it doing anything plus I'm tired of starting the game over and over. Stinky.

I too, have played this game in two different sessions and each time I start back up, it starts me back at the beginning. Last play I was 4-5 levels in. Starting over each time isn't a whole lot of fun for me. And I just purchased this in the last week.

I'll provide any info about my OS if it'll be helpful for troubleshooting, but seems to me there's a glitch in the actual game.

Thanks.

I just downloaded this game for Mac, and was frustrated about how the cigar hint is supposed to work. Amazingly, I found a site where you could play the game for a little while in your browser, and discovered that what is supposed to happen is that smoke from the cigar floats out to a hidden object and then encircles it. In the Mac version, as you all know, all that happens is that the cigar burns to the end and no hint is given.

This is also a major glitch that will probably mean that I will wait to buy the game. If this and the continue problems are fixed, I will gladly buy this game, it looks no ends of fun.
