The Songs that Get Caught in the Brain!

[Post New]by chacetate on Oct 6, 09 7:41 AM
ok i was just thinking (and watching Law and order on netflix :p) ...i personally tend to get the SAME few songs stuck in the brain from time to time and wondered if others have the same problem and what songs they might find theirselfs (mebbe 'selves'? mebbe 'there'?) waking up singing.

I am cursed with Groove is in the Heart (if i knew yall in person i would never tell yall that b/c it is such an irksome song), i constantly hum the indiana jones theme song and people tell me the tune i am humming as if i didnt know. Sometimes i think that they want me to give them a prize like they are on a game show. and there is a diddy from The Quiet Man that i La-La-La to, dont hum to it. Then Strawberry Fields but i dont know ANY other words besides "strawberry fields forever" and i sing is in the most horrible accent.

I hate hearing or thinking of "The Name Game" song. I don't even know the words, but the tune gets stuck in my head. Annie, Annie, Banannie, bo bannie,
or something like that. Now I will be singing that all day Thanks a lot, chacetate. (Just kidding)

All someone has to do is talk about a song and it plays like a broken record in my head all day. I used to hate the Oscar Myer commercial for that reason. All day long I'd be going around, "My bologna has a first name it's O-S-C-A-R."

The wheels on the bus go round and round.

I love you, you love me, we're a happy family.

B-I-N-G-O

And my grown kids never even sung those when they were little.

Yep that's me, I'm so suggestible when it comes to getting songs in my head.

I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener

I spent most of the mid/late 80s with Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now" stuck in my brain. I could NOT turn it off. It drove me bonkers. I'd just get rid of it and I'd hear it again somewhere and it would be off and running.
As soon as I saw this topic it started singing itself up there. I have nothing to do with it, it happens all by itself. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
But things have gotten better over the years... instead of being with me for days now it will be gone by the time I leave work this afternoon [I'm on my lunch break now]

Why couldn't I be cursed with a GOOD 80s song?

Hold me now, warm my heart, stay with me, let the loving start...

When I worked, I'd dust the shelves all the time and get the song
"Cinderelly,Cinderelly, night and day it's Cinderelly", going through my head, and if I told my best friend.....forget it we'd be off.

Sure glad kelvy taught me the words to the name game. At least now when it is stuck in my head (like it is) I can sing it correctly. Thanks, kelvy!

The one that drives me bonkers is "It's a small world after all."

Oops, now I've gone and done it. Must turn on radio to get this *&^$%# song out of my head!
