Level 87 hard

Currently I have played this level about 100 times and have a score of about 60,000 just on this level, but... what a little devil of a level. Anyone any helpful suggestions. The 'crate' at the top of the game, which decends, can be bullets, coins, extra strength, and is different each time, if you are lucky enough to 'catch' it . If you get the extra black faces or the bullets, they are not indicated at the bottom of the screen. If you get the bombs, they are. How do you get the balloons up or down to the fire? Never mind exploding the bricks to get into these areas. Gosh this one takes some patience.

I scored 75,335 on this one before actually completing it. There does not seem to be any particular strategy, just perseverance.
