OH-kay, I have played all the way through, and don't know the answer to the very first mystery:

Who, if anyone, was trying to assassinate Nick?

Nick set that up herself to look like she was being targeted for murder, all as part of her plan to murder her cousin.

Thank, pjs. I figured that made sense, but couldn't remember Poirot actually saying so!
