I liked the fact that it was NOT a haunted mansion, graveyard, time travel, sort of a game. It's nice to see a different slant on the IHOG.
If you run WinXP, don't click the right mouse button or it kicks you out of the game. It happened to me when i tried to put an item back into inventory.
I like the mult- task aspect of the game. It is refreshingly non-linear. I'd like to see more games in this venue. A bit too much scurrying around though.
I give it a 7/10.

Got caught up in the moment and purchased, but a little disappointed at the anti-climactic ending. Did I miss somehting, or did she ditch her husband and leave him to perish?

Wow. Compeling story that carries you into the action from the very beginning. Yes, it does have its absurdities, but how many vampires or talking demons have you met recently? The **** scenes, altho a bit ridiculous in theory, are satisfyingly difficult. And I applaud any game developer who includes difficulty options. I had a great time with the demo, In fact, I'm going to look elsewhere for the premium edition before I buy the game here at BF. From what I have read in the forum, the premium edition includes more game play rather than wallpaper and music and other crud that I personally do not enjoy.

So many good reviews here from all ends of the spectrum. I will not go over the basics again.

I was wowed by the introduction. It was great. I liked the idea of the storyline. But then things kind of got in the way of my enjoyment. It was not a relaxing play. I, too, was frustrated trying to find the right dart or camera while Jimmy was drowning. Just let me get the drill and get the door open NOW!

WinXP SP3 is my system. I got kicked out when I right-clicked (maybe double right-clicked) to put an inventory item back. The other quirky think that happened was with the spot the difference to turn off the water. I had to leave that scene and stop the game for a bit. When I restarted the game, I was taken back to it. But all of the differences that I had spotted were no longer available to click on and did not count toward the total. There was no way to complete the mini-game. I had to skip. That is no big deal for me, but I would have liked to be able to start it again when I restarted the game.

All in all this appears to be a well done game. I liked the wandering about feel of the game. The art work on the H0 scenes was very good. Some things were very well hidden in plain sight. Being able to skip the intro when re-entering the game is great. This game has some very good aspects, but it is not the relaxing game that I am looking for right now.

Well, there is a walkthrough, but after I played the hour, I looked at the WT and found that I didn't have much left to do. I found little Jimmy and Dad and only had to cut Dad loose and then on to little Denise. Too short for me to spend money on. Otherwise a nice game. Different for a change. Graphics nice, music not annoying, objects challenging but not too difficult. Just wish it was longer.

Enjoyed the game very much. Nice graphics. A bit too short though. Played the demo then about 30 minutes more and done.

thanks, I should have waited til it was 2.99 and not used a game credit.
Just a bit to short for the money.

I didn't care for this game much. Oh, the graphics are good and the subject is a good one-at least it's not one with occult themes in it, but I didn't like the way it was set up. From almost the beginning I got stuck and couldn't figure out how to get the boy free or how to free the other guy. I had some items in the inventory but I couldn't figure out how to use any of them so I just ended up un-installing the game. Too bad because I think I might have liked it if I had just been able to understand how the game worked.

I loved this. Hidden objects and adventure without vampires, museums, graveyards, blood, dead bodies, skeletons, and missing grandfathers!

Graphics are great and it is a complete story. I even felt like I had to hurry and rescue my son. LOL

There is nothing that is thrown in and doesn't fit the context.

If there are more from this vendor, I'll buy in an instant.

No Full Screen? I'm only getting half a screen on my Computer, is it supposed to be like that?

Very nice Game, I like it! I think I'm going to buy the Collector's Edition on this one.

The Hint button is very WEAK ... blink and you will miss it! Surely they could have come up with a better one than that!

I didn't see where her husband was rescued, either. If I remember correctly, he was talking about swimming out, but didn't have the diving gear. And he wasn't waiting at the heliport where the rest of the survivors were.
This game did leave a lot to be desired, in my opinion. I would rate it a 1.

Woohoo!! Thoroughly enjoyed the reviews and comments on this one - had some belly laughs on quite a few. Good job, y'all.

I had no technical probs - it ran smooth as glass - seamless. But the little glitches, though they didn't stop me from being able to move from scene to scene and progress toward the finish, were a concern. The map became useless because completed tasks were still showing as incomplete. What a shame, too, because I loved the way you could touch the task pin on the map and it would show you the place you needed to go to complete the task.

I really enjoy tougher hidden object scenes, so the fact there were multiples of items and you had to find just the right one was quite clever imho and added to the difficulty factor. It did start like a movie, the graphics were lovely, the story had great appeal, and on and on. There were many great aspects that should have made this a marvelous game.

But don't be swayed by any review that says they bought the premiere game, because the standard game obviously is the poor relative. It just kind of ran out of steam - as if the team members said: "Oh let's just end this already." Boom, the heroine leaves the hubby in the elevator shaft and runs off with the kids and a rescued crew member. Wow! No 'to be continued' tag, no explanations, nothing. I thought for a second that it had crashed, but it hadn't. It just went back to the main menu. I even checked the BFG walkthrough to see if I'd missed something and except for the fact that I never got a phone call from the daughter, it was just the way the developers decided to end it.

Short (and I like to play the more difficult version and really dawdle over a game) and sweet. What a shame - it had real potential.

I just finished it. Did not need walkthrough at all, was able to think my way through the 2 times I was stuck. It took me about 4 hours to finish, but I take my time and enjoyed the great graphics. I noticed a few typos and had no bugs with XP. I'm glad I spent my PC free game credit on it..was well worth it IMO. Challenging, lots of interactive stuff to do and again really great graphics.

Now. there is one things I am wondering POSSIBLE SPOILER SO I'll write my question about the ending in hidden text highlight if you have finished or don't mind knowing the ending: Did we get the alternate ending too, even though this was a SE and not the "premium" version sold elsewhere? Because I found all the extra items and puzzles...and the husband was rescued at the end of my game.

Very fun game.. I'm wondering if this was their first attempt? I loved it and would buy from them again..this could make a great series and with a little editing and polish this game developer could really make some awesome CE worthy games.
I stand by my 4

dissapointed overall

The game sorely needed an editor. you are at one time given a "key" and a cresent wrench shows up in your inventory. As I mentioned in another post, the list asks for a baseball when the object is a baseball BAT..

so I just looked through the walk through because even the next day it was bothering me wether or not I got all the family members posesions because there was no tally kept on them. didn't know if I did good or bad. but here is something ODD... the lifeboat HOG I mentioned in my previous post did have the word bat with baseball in the walkthrough!!! against my better judgement, I played again to that point and YES in mine there was no bat. VERY confusing. thought I was going crazy when I saw that on the walk through.

Just finished this and loved it. Not enough to play again - maybe sometime in the far off future. The dialogue was hysterically funny. She freed her husband, but he still didn't move (no comment ) Great fun. It was what I call a romp. Not class, but worth the coupon definitely - certainly wouldn't have bought the CE.

I've only played for 20 minutes and according to the walk through I'm almost at the 1/4 mark! From other people's comments it sounds and looks like a very short game--a good game, but short. I'll definetly buy as a DD but will be saving my credits for something a bit juicier. I agree with a couple people feeling trapped by the 'underwater/drowning' affect. I found myself holding my breath a couple times--how silly is that!! I know lots of fishies have problems with different things: spiders, snakes, blood, etc. So if you have problems/phobias about drowning you might want to skip this one (sorry if a lot of people have already mentioned this).
I think this is one that you will really like or really hate- personally I like a lot of HOG scenes so I'm happy with that (the graphics are clear, but not super easy to find so just the right level of challenge), and there's a map and a clearly stated tasks that help with the interactive part (in the easy mode-don'e know if that's different in the other mode).
I greatly appreciate everybody's input-both before and after I try a game-so thank you Fishies!!!
Happy Gaming!

Finished the game just now, don't know how long I played in total but with interruptions it took me a great deal of my evening. Maybe 3 hours or so. I liked it. It was a change from the dark horror themed games and for once we didn't get spiders, skulls and other well knowns items in the HOG screens. The HOG screens were great, not too difficult but not too easy either, had to use hints a couple of times. I'm not a puzzle person but the puzzels in this game were do-able, although I did skip a few.

All in all glad I used a credit on it, had saved up so many since there weren't many games coming out that interested me, glad I could spend one for a change.

Might have to play it again because before the cutscene started I checked the diary and I had two red pins still showing saying me I still had actions in those part of the game, so appearantly I went to the end of the game too soon.

I had the same happening, I was kind of baffled since she went through so much trouble saving them all..but before the end cutscene came I checked my diary and saw I had still 2 pins showing, meaning I still had 2 actions appearantly to finish...so maybe if I had returned to do those she might have saved her husband? If not..yup weird ending after all the trouble she went through.

The intro movie was so well done, it also sold me on using a token!! The game was way to short, I think it was less than 2 hours. No effort saving Dennise?? I was disappointed. I would like to see the CE version though!
