Hi lilyr and thanks for your special hello. It sounds like blingykins and I may have gotten a few people interested in Matthew Reilly. What is Lawrence Block's Scudder book about I never heard of it.

Your right I need to post like crazy before I end up in melted butter.

Hi Raven_Wing,

Scudder is a character in a series by Block. He was an attorney who lost everything through alcoholism and now does (unlicensed) P.I. work. Block used to have a drinking problem of sorts. After he dried out the Scudder character lost his edge. Probably the best was WHEN THE SACRED GINMILL CLOSES. As with most series, they should be read in order.

Hi lilyr,

The Scudder character sounds interesting. Do you know how many books are in this series? I am going to put them on my list. Thanks for the info.

Happy gaming and reading.

Would you believe that I used to smuggle my mom's copy of Flower's in the Attic into school. I think I was in 8th grade at the time and went to Cathlic(cant spell anymore) school!. I had to keep it hidden from the one nun teacher that I had. NoNo your right the original VC Andrews was the best. I basicly stopped reading her after she passed, pick up one now and then but it wasn't the same
I bought the new Janet Evanovich yesterday and have about 50 pages left . I sit here and laugh my head off. It's called Plum Spooky if anyone is interested.

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forums but I had to stop by this thread because I'm a fellow book junkie. Right now I'm in the middle of J. Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series (which I put on the backburner to play MCF Return to Ravenhearst). I always have to have a book on me,where ever I go. I can't stand having to wait somewhere for my kids or whatever and not be reading!

I'll definitely be re-reading Harry Potter for the 4th time before the new movie, I usually read Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice once a year. My all-time favorite series is Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. It's a commitment to read because the books are huge but it's awesome. I'll do a 3rd read of them soon too.

I like Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson and many I can't even think of! I read Twilight but haven't gotten to the others yet. I will just as soon as I get over my gaming phase! Oh and I loved the orginal VC Andrews books too.

Regina

I love so many different authors and books! Mystery is one of my favorite! James P. is one of the best!

Flowers in the Attic was one of the first series I read...loved it...and didn't like some of the stuff that came after, so stopped reading her - actually didn't realize til reading this she was being ghosted - guess that explains it.

As for others, I've read most that have been listed, and enjoyed them all...I love to read, and that's pretty much what I do right now, either play games or read.

I like lots of different types, but one of my faves is fantasy - I like sword and sorcery stuff...

Mercedes Lackey - the Herald of Valdemar series is great - the Elemental Masters series and several others.
Terry Goodkind - Sword of Truth series - remarkable (1 or 2 of 'em were really dry reads, but, the rest makes up for it) - the tv series Legend of the Seeker is based on this.
Charlane Harris - vampire books...the series TruBlu is based on them - she has another series with a girl who sees dead people as the main character that is good as well
Anne McCaffey - the Pern dragon books are the best - and another series for her is Acorna - it's a little more sci-fi - but it is very well written and I just get to know and love the characaters ...that's what keeps me reading and rereading all of these.

a lot of the ones that have been listed in this thread, I'm happy to say are mostly on my bookshelf (or at my library - but, I read them)...
love most of them...

'bout all I can think to say now...sure others will come to me ... lol
