I am enjoying this game on a rainy Saturday.
I understand that some are bothered by the slow motion after clicking on an item. But I guess I have a wee bit more patience in my old age.

The first scene was so easy I thought I was playing a little kids game. But the 2nd scene got harder. The thing that will stop me from purchasing is the slowness of the game. Why on earth would they make it so slow?
As others did, I also thought something was wrong with my computer.
Make it a 99 cent special and I'll buy it.

Ok.....here we go after playing the demo.

Not the greatest HOG, but good for a lazy afternoon.
Music is nice if the volume is turned down so it's not "invasive".
No timer...love that part
Hints button recharges quickly, but hints are rarely needed unless you're impatient.
Mini-games are easy, so far, but getting more difficult as they go along. However, each one, so far, has been different. (I detest "find the difference" and slider puzzles). Up to the point the demo ended, there haven't been any.

Will I buy this game? Yeah...I might. But, as I said earlier, it's a lazy-day game and not a brain drain. I like the brain drain games a bit better than this one, but at times my brain is a bit tired...lol

Hope it isn't too short. It's so disappointing when we discover we've already played half the game by the time the demo is over. Don't know about that yet with this game.

I have many more half finished games but I get bored easy.
Anyway....any advice would be appreciated on this map thing.

I hope you have solved the problem with the map and have not given up
there is a vague outline to work from, perhaps the piece is just "overlapping"
at any rate here is a link to the walkthrough Margie B does a great job describing the "process"

I've played a little over half the demo, and I am really enjoying this game and will be buying it at some point. I quit the demo only because I have to get some other things done and then go to a family play day. I read through this thread before playing and tried to pay attention to some of the comments here as I was playing. There are 2 things that seem to stand out to me among the comments, and the first of these is that some of the hidden objects are not the size you would expect them to be. I found this to be very true...HOWEVER...this made the game more interesting and fun to me because I'd be going along looking for something and then I'd suddenly realize that it was in plain sight....just not the size I'd expected it to be. I enjoy how the developers have used the positive advantage of the "unexpected" to hide objects in this way especially in this game. Sometimes when this is used it's not nearly as much fun because the objects look so ridiculously different from the surroundings, but in this game they don't. They seem to blend in well with the surroundings despite their unique sizes which just adds more challenge to the hunt.

The other thing I saw a lot of comments about was the big delay after finding an object and between changing scenes. I am not experiencing this delay to any significant degree. I have 3 GB of memory and a fast dual-core processor which may be helping in that regard. I also noticed that when switching scenes, there is a small score card type thing at the top of the screen that's easy to overlook, and my scenes would change as soon as it counted up the points. This might be what's happening during the waiting time some of you are having, and you just haven't noticed it yet. Just a thought!

I'm not experiencing any lagginess or delay either. Dual-core processor here, with 2 gigs of RAM.

Now, this is going to sound really geeky, but I just realized that after I play the game in English, I can then try to play it in French a second time---this will be like two games for me then, and it will be a puzzle within a puzzle--figure out WHAT I am looking for, and then try to find it!

bribling wrote:I am enjoying it. Bought it before the hour was up. It is pretty simple so far. It has some easy minis. If you don't like the music, you can go to options and turn it off.

Some objects are outlandishly large, some are reasonably sized. There might be a small object or two though I don't recall any. What is small are the diamonds you need to collect to charge the Hint system. I was still able to find most or all of the diamonds.

I am finding it interesting. Some objects go in inventory to be used in mini games later. it may get more difficult as it goes (I hope). Amsterdam locations are nice. I enjoy virtual tours of places I will never see. I like this better than the last two HOGs which bored me early on and did not improve. After nearly an hour I am still interested.

No Timer. Renewing Hints that don't take too long. I actually used some Hints when i thought i was looking for tiny items only to be surprised by normal sized or large items! There are some dark spots with items hidden in them. I usually click in dark places to find things hidden there. If you click too much, the curser will go in circles for a second or two. I may have more to say when I get further along but for now I am enjoying this game.

Oh, BTW, I almost quit on the first scene when I saw all the giant objects. I am glad I moved on though there still are a few really big items. Sometimes the largest things are the hardest to find because they are so unexpected.

I kind-of liked the game, and bought it after 40 minutes. Turned the music down, and it's not so bad, and the game does get better.

This game is far too short and not worth the money.

Enjoyable and more challenging that a straightforward **** game but felt very cheated.

Well, I was born in Holland and came here with my family at age 9. Have been back to my home city in the south of Holland several times but just once to Amsterdam. Have an aunt in Friesland where I loved it.
Will have to download this and see if I get that "homey" feel from the game.

I have played about 15 mins of this game and find it to be rather simple and boring, not exactly the quality HOG we were promised. they say the squeaky wheel gets all the oil so I guess we will just have to keep complaining untill we get a high quality HOG. I think the word disappointment says it all. I still think BFG will eventually come through for us although I guess we are going to have to be extremely patient. I am confident that BF is listening to us and will eventually give us what we want. BF is still the best.

Like this game! It gets progressively harder both in finding objects and solving the mini-games. Not sure what everyone is looking for now??? Perhaps it is like looking at your passport photo when you update - you hated it then - but 10 years later you looked quite good!!!

For me, thank goodness for the blog - needed it twice now.

Very slow........................ and very boring. As someone else said, no point to the story. Why am I there? What am I hunting for? Played demo for 40 minutes and then deleted. I love games like Flux or Mortimer Becket, RTR etc. In my opinion, this was not even clever, just another game the developers wanted to get out there.

Quad-core here, but perhaps some of the lagging is because I am used to playing against a timer. However, I am almost 1/2 way through the game with 8 minutes left on my demo (cheated and checked the walkthrough), and will seriousl consider purchasing this game. Once in a while, it's nice to sit back and smell the roses, and to me that's what this game is about...a nice relaxing untimed game.

Never thought of trying to play in another language, will have to try French & Dutch to see how well I can do. Talk about replay value. I just thought it was great to see UK english available, but so far, no spanners, or proper footballs to locate....

Well, to each his or her own. I have played the entire Dream Day series (bought them all) up until the latest (don't know if I will like that now, am spoiled) and found them to be simple and trivial junk pile games. So, I guess it's all in what you are looking for and you personal POV. The Dream Day series is fun, don't get me wrong. I would not have bought them if I didn't enjoy them
