Hello

I bought Hidden Mysteries Titanic Secrets of the Fateful Voyage at Target. I also bought Escape the Museum 2. Both don't work right. the caption on Escape the Museum 2 are half done.

Anyway I tried to install Mac version of Hidden Mysteries Titanic into my Mac and It was sucess. I tried to open it and it said that it was damaged and unrecozned. I even tried to open the game from cd and the same thing happen. I tried again and the icon got crossed.

I refused to return the cd because Hidden Mysteries The White House which is the Bonus game include into cd. and It working perfectly.

Anyway I already contacted to Tech support at Game Mill entertainment and explain to them about it. Right now I'm waiting for their repose.

Did anyone have similar problem with Hidden Mysteries Titanic??

Chrissy

It looks like their CD is slightly screwed up.

Basically when you copied over the application bundle it *DIDN'T* copy over the actual executable, only the data files.

Here is how I fixed the issue..

Control-Click (or right click) on the hidden mysteries titanic application on your Harddrive and choose "Show Package Contents"..

Do the same for the application on the CD..

Then navigate to the "Contents" folder and then the "MacOS" folder.

Copy all of the files that appear in the MacOS folder on the CD to the MacOS folder on the harddrive. (should be 15 files).

Then you should be able to run the game off of the harddrive.. Well sort of.. It's running as an admin user fine.. But when I try and run it as a non-admin it still has the "prohibit"cross you mentioned. And has the error that it won't run on this mac.. Some cache is screwed up still..

Let me know if you get any feedback from Game Mill

Hmm..
Now it's working...

All I did was (after copying over the MacOS dir) modify the Info.plist file (changed the Executable name, saved, tried running it (it failed of course as that file didn't exist) and then change it back.. and the prohibit icon overlay is gone.

There was also a reboot, a few log offs, and a few "reinitializing" of the Launch Services Database.. . But it wasn't until I effectively "touched" the Info.plist that OS X rebuilt it's cache and noticed "oh it's better now".

Note that this is a 10.6.1 system (snow leopard)

Hey folks,

In case this might be helpful to you, we have a Mac mega-thread posted at the top of Chit Chat. You can get to it by clicking here.

I mention it because a lot of our Mac-savvy fishies hang out there and since it's stickied to the top of Chit-Chat, it doesn't get buried like other threads do when people don't respond for a while. You may wish to try posting there to see if any of our Mac users have anymore advice for you.

Cheers!

Oh.. Sorry it took so long. While I was waiting for replaied from Gaming mills and/or Gunnars games. I sorta kinda figured it out and fixed the problem by copied the rest into MacOS which is empty. I find it odd. So I contacted both about it and one of them is looking into it and other gave me the same directions on what I did. So Everything fine. I also enjoyed play Hidden Mysteries: White House (which is the bonus game include in Hidden Mysteries: Titanic dvd). I found this dvd at Target just in case anyone wondering where I find it.

Chrissy

PS. It work well with Snow Leopard. I use these games on my MacBook.
