Access violation

I have had MTE for about 3 years now. Never had any major problems with it. Now, whenever I start the game an error message pops up that says access violation, program terminated. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times now and have updated my version of Direct X. I don't know what else to do. Anyone else have this problem? and how did you solve it if you did?

Have only ever struck this a couple of times recently - they say it is to do with registry entries but i hadnt installed anything new or anything on me puter when this appeared other than windows updates - might pay to check that these are up to date - having said that - i ended up uninstalling IE8 again & the prob hasnt appeared since - also double check yr security settings in yr browsers - i also found i was still logged in to a website when this error ocured - check everything - 1 can never be too careful

In case this is a registry entry in yr case - (i do hope you saved yr player folder b4 doing this otherwise you will have to restart with a new player) when you uninstalled did you do a search of yr puter for all hidden folders & files of the game as well & delete them? Uninstall dosnt entirely uninstall everything - you need to search & delete all prior to reinstalling

Another possibility is puter memory - do you have enough of it for the game to run? Do a thorough clean up of yr puter & yr browsers & check to see if it needs defragmenting - lack of puter memory can stop programmes starting & cause this error
