General tips

The game only has 54 actual levels. If you skip puzzles, HO scenes or have to buy time or moves it will make you repeat that board at some later point, so you really need to do "everything" if you don't want to be going around in circles.

If your level counter is past level 54, press the left Ctrl key plus the L key on your keyboard to get the level counter to display 2 numbers. The second one is the level that you're repeating. You can Google the Jewel Match official website for a walkthrough on the different levels - look up your "actual" level number to get more details on that board.

Habitual "skippers" should beware, as going around and around too many times apparently causes this game to crash eventually.

The coins in this game work differently than in some other JM games. Here, you have to make a match next to a coin to collect it, and collecting a coin adds to your mana bar for using the spells. If you're particular about getting all the coins out of the levels you may not ever need to use your mana bottle stash or buy mana bottles in the shop.

Using the bomb on an area with coins will collect the coins for you, as will hitting coins with a helix (the thing that splits in two clearing out a row when you click on it). However, using the hammers or the fireball in an area with coins will delete the coins without giving you credit.

The wood boxes hide keys, HOS magnifying glasses, puzzle scene pieces, and mana bottles. If you appear to be stuck on a level with nowhere left to go, scroll around and look for wood boxes to break open. The bomb spell is particularly useful for large areas of wood boxes.

If it doesn't look like you can do a puzzle, it might be because it takes more than one level before you will get all the parts necessary to solve the puzzle. A few examples of this are the boiler room puzzle, the spinning wheel puzzle, and repairing Luna's balloon. The objects you need will be in assorted HOS over a few levels. You may also have to do puzzles a little at a time - when you get a certain section of it done, it will give you one or more keys so you can continue on and then come back later to do whatever's left in the puzzle.

Probably the most helpful tip I can offer is: Play like you have OCD.
