Underworld gate

Hi - I'm stuck pretty early on. I have the canoe. I'm at the Underworld gate with the specter who wants something. It isn't gold because I have that and can't seem to give it to him (or is it her?) I have tried retracing my steps and going back to the village but everyone keeps telling me to either enjoy the snow before it melts or go to the Big Tree. I'm not getting anywhere in this game.

One more question, is this game also known by another name? I was on the Amaranth website and don't see A2 listed but Ean's Quest? Also, there is no walk through or guide. Anyone know of one? Thanks!

There are extensive walkthroughs at the developers site under the Community tab, then navigate to the Village Square and choose one of the Ean's Quest (AV2) walkthroughs.
I can tell you that you cannot pass through the Underworld this early in your game. Once Iya is enchanted by the Snow Queen, Ean must travel to Shaenlir to rescue her. Since you have the canoe try exploring the small town (Ryva) through Brightwood Forest that is below the Underworld entrance. Take note of a young gentleman with green hair you will met there, he could become a valuable future companion.

Thanks Memawclay2 -- much appreciated. Since it was so early in the game I actually went back and started a new quest since the first time through the game wouldn't let me exit the canoe any place except the Underground gate or where I put it in the water. I will def check out the walk thru. Thanks again. I love these games and just purchased the newest. Am trying to play catch up since I missed this one somehow. Take care
