Freeze up-Curse of the Pharaoh: the Quest for Nefertiti

I am having the same problem as a couple of other people have had in the past, but I don't see an answer. My game keeps freezing up going into the last room with the pharaoh head to unlock it. I get out of the freeze and when I get back into the game the door is down again and there is no pharaoh head to unlock it. I have to keep starting over. Can anyone help?
