Baggy Pants

[Post New]by april086 on Sep 16, 08 4:47 PM
Just wondering what your thoughts are about the whole new banning of baggy pants in Florida? Do you think it's a good thing or do you think it will make things worse?

Honestly I think it is stupid it is just an item of clothing and everyone decides what they want to wear and what they don't. When someone is wearing an outfit that looks horrible or females that wear skirts that are way to short or shirts that hang out breasts or something along that line, they dont get arrested so why baggy pants?? I aint a fan of the baggy pants either I am always telling my brother to pull his up but i think its the "trend" for teens to be doing it. But honestly I think it will make them mad and do it more.

LOL- it's not to far from me in Riviera Beach. They have actually ticketed people!

I personally don't care for the look, but I'm not 16. I'm sure some of the getups I wore in the 70's and 80's were frowned upon by my elders.

As long as I don't see any booty cracks...whatever makes you happy!

Well I aint 16 either lol but like you said what you wear doesnt always make others happy but I agree if its only boxer shorts since most of them where underneath and not their bottom cracks then why worry???

What's really funny is when you see police running after some guy who's trying to hold up his pants to keep them from falling off and trips right in front of the police.
Saw it on the news the other night, said to my husband" serves him right".

i think in virginia if they can see your underwear above your pants then you get a ticket. I don't think it looks right but it is their preference.

I remember 10 years ago when baggy pants started to become the 'in' thing and i hoped and wish it would go away soon, alas people still wear their britches like that.

I think that what a person wears is a form of expression and as much as i HATE baggy pants on a kid (or grown up even) i dont believe it is right to be able to tricket people for wearing them BUT things like that dont just happen, and if those people didnt come to whatever meeting or vote for or against their 'fashion statement' then i guess they dont mind being able to get a ticket.

there is my two cents

personally I don't see the point (or the comfort) in wearing pants that are belted below your butt.

if the pockets were supposed to sit at the back of your knee I'm sure that is where they would be.

banning them, not sure how effective that would be.
it would be nice if they did it in schools. in public can we really control what people wear?

Well if someone could tell me how to ban my 22 year-old son from at least wearing them like that in my own house, I'd appreciate it! I'm TIRED of seeing my own son's behind, I saw it enough when he was in diapers!

I wonder if those who wear those baggy pants realize how it affects the body. Have you ever watched how it causes you to walk. It totally trows your body out of line. You walk with a skuffle throwing your knees out wide to support your pants. So it isn't really a dress ediquiette in question here it is causing your body to try to adjust to an unnatural state. This also affects your spine alignment, which will eventually affect the rest of your body. But, hey, you have to wear whats in style, Right?

GinaBean,
Stop washing his underware til he HAS to pull those pants up or people will see his naked bottom. OR throw all his underwear away then buy a bunch of zebra stripped man-thongs and a belt and see what he does.

chacetate, I stopped doing his laundry LONG ago! Didn't do any good. I keep buying him those boxers with stoopid sayings on them, HOPING he'll want to cover them, but NO-O-O, he just displays them proudly! It's a lost cause... sigh....

I am 29 and have always hated people wearing their pants so low I can see their underwear. However, I think it goes a little to far to give a person a ticket for it. I think the government has gone too far when telling people how to wear their clothes.

I even read earlier on a news website that they arrested someone and left them spend the night in jail all because his pants were tooo low.

this is what i thought stupid
Laws that ban low-slung pants are on the books in several US cities, including Delcambre, Louisiana, where offenders can be fined up to $A628 or jailed for up to six months.

All this because of the way kids wear their clothing

He only had to spend the night because he had a prior drug offense

Still.. sitting the night in jail because your pants hang low.. its a little ridiculous.

ok alot ridiculous.
