getting back into the cave

Help! Does anyone know how to get past that angry monkey in the cave? I was up there once and tried to go back up. No offering helps.

I took the back entrance & gave him a cake that I made, which put him to sleep.

You could also scare him off with the snake (which you can capture with forked stick and cage).
