Tips and Tricks for Crazy Machines

[Post New]by bfgAegean on Sep 17, 08 10:05 AM
Place all your pieces on the board – A good way to begin a level is to take all your pieces from the left side of the screen and place them in the work area. This will help you visualize what needs to be done and what you have to work with.

Try and try again
– A machine needs to be just right to work in the real world, and so it goes for this game. Don’t get frustrated if something looks right, but doesn’t perform correctly on this first attempt. Much like science, you’ll need to be patient and be will to try, and try again to succeed.

Think outside the box – Just because an item is normally used for one thing, doesn’t mean it won’t be used for something completely different on a later level. Don’t be afraid to experiment with items outside of their intended purpose. Some machines will require a mash-up of items in order to function.

These are just a few hints to help you out. If you have any other suggestions, post them below!

Re-posting from a Crazy Machines topic in Chit-Chat Corner.

Hello everyone! Crazy Machines is indeed a tough game, and I've had some trouble with it myself. A lot of this game is based on trial and error. Here are a couple of solutions for those of you who are stuck.

Puzzle 4: Magnetism - Place the magnet about half way between the wooden post on the left, and the wood plank on the right with the red side of the magnet slightly above the level of the wooden plank. This placement should bring the bucket in line with the ball on its way down.

Puzzle 5: All in all - Place the bucket between the two boards to the left of the magnets, and place the two dominoes to the left of the domino that is above the domino on the bottom section. Then place the wooden peg slight left and above the wooden plank that the bottom domino is sitting on so that the ball will bounce off of it and onto the plank with the domino.

Puzzle 16: Blinker Device - First off all, you won't use the small generator you are given for this puzzle. Connect the middle gear in the middle of the screen with to the gear to the left of the top light bulb. Then place the solar panel to the left of the top light bulb, and connect a wire from the panel to the gear drive to left of the light bulb on the bottom, and place the other wire connecting the top gear drive with the empty socket near the battery.

I hope these help, good luck!

thank you bfgAegean for the heads up to get the game started. I see you can't rush this game and a lot of deducing will take place. Trial and error in some spots. Thanks for the game. I like these challenged games. Gets that grey matter moving that has been laying dormant.

Yep I agree angel, it's certainly got my grey matter moving, but I love solving these types of puzzles, you really have to think, be patient and use trial and error. Trial and error being my main tip. Rome wasn't built in a day, and waiter another pot of coffee please.

On a later level, I have discovered that you can lift the weight using 2 balloons tied together with the cord.

On many levels you are given more equipment than you need to solve the puzzle. So don't be surprised if you have a balloon, a set of ropes or a conveyor belt left over, that you don't need to solve it.

I'm still stuck on #4- I can't get the bucket to move so the ball can fall in it. No matter where I put the magnet, the bucket just stays where it is. I have put it facing right, up, down and left- between the peg and the shelf the bucket is on, under that shelf, over the shelf above the bucket, and between the bucket and the box. When I click start, the bucket drops to the shelf, no movement to the left at all. Any other clues? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Place the magnet to left of the bucket so that it looks like the letter C, the bottom (red) part of the magnet just left of and next to the nail on the shelf, anywhere else and the magnet doesn't seem to work. Good Luck

If you use a solar cell to power an electric motor, the further away the cell is from the light source the slower the motor will run, very important in a higher level.

Put the candle underneath the sausage...once it starts turning, it will take a few seconds for it to cook!

This configuration only blinks one lightbulb, and the game is still stuck--I don't get a continue screen...do we have to blink BOTH lightbulbs? Help?

UPDATE: okay, figured this out...all i did was move the solar panel a little closer to the lightbulb. I recalled someone mentioning here, i think, that there is more power to the solar panel, the closer it is to the light source...this gave me a weak blink in the bottom lightbulb--but enough to solve the task.
