Some of you don't know that your cheif can be a child. Also a smart thing to do is if you have a woman cheif she should do babies too.

Did you check Parenting on details for both male and female that you want to mate? Just keep dragging them together. As soon as you hear a kiss look up at your population, if a winner it will go up one, or 2 for twins. You don't even have to wait for them to go to the cabin. After 5 or 6 tries, then find a different mate but don't forget to uncheck the male or female's preference or they may not return to another task but mate with someone else. Shouldn't matter who, unless you are trying to keep someone on their job and it would set their progress back.

If you have higher level health they live longer and they can conceive even in their 50's so you don't have to mate a very young one. They have to be 18 or older to mate. Can't think of anything else but to be persistant if they resist, if they run away they can change their mind at any time.

If you play at normal speed, you can switch to Fast and takes just 2 hours to get the mother back to work and 2 year old child. If someone has already mated successfully with points, they do it again easier than "untrained".

Good luck

Edit to add you need to have enough cabins built to increase population too.

I found .... when getting two villagers to mate, it seems to work well if both partners are standing still so that I can fit their heads together. If one has been running away and I have stopped him/her, I wait a moment until the head has stopped wagging. I check the population count to see if we have success. Once everyone has gotten used to the process of making babies, and the game has progressed somewhat, they will do it wihout being told to .... even without me wanting them to. This can be a nuisance when the statue is being pushed ....
I haven't had success when the woman is beyond 50. This version of Villagers has heard of the menopause.

There are some special potions that will enhance fertility. I can't remember them off the top of my head but there should be a thread here with a complete potions list.

you can google for vv herb teas or stews, lots of lists. I did try some that said for Romance with no results. I guess romance doesn't mean always making babies, my peeps just didn't want to work, think they went swimming LOL. Don't recall one saying for fertility. But you can buy higher levels of something, and when they are living into their 70's with more logevity they do make babies in their 50s

Very annoying and a setback when suddenly an unplanned one happens, oooo ouch in the middle of hauling the statue? Usually when we forget to Uncheck parenting on the couple, after success especially the guy. I work so hard with one to get their masters and off getting preggers, 2 year setback getting a degree. Not fair, the guys just keep on working. I usually have one guy I use for stud (gawd that sounds awful) that all the girls like, but really have to watch him and just check his profile when needed, then uncheck. Or he will reject one then run over and pick out the same girl who just had one LOL.
