Study--trying to look at the map and the picture

I am trying to look at the map on the wall of the study and the picture on the wall beside it. I have the flashlight, but I can't look at either item. It lets me look at the bookstand, but I can't get any closer. Can anyone help me? It would be greatly appreciated!

Did you find the batteries? Did you combine the flashlight with the batteries?

Yes, I have the flashlight and the batteries and have combined them. I am searching the mansion at night. For some reason, it won't let me look at either the picture or the map on the wall of the study.
