Bes - it is a while since I played this game, but look for a walkthrough which will help you here. Try Gamzebo - their walkthroughs I find, are very good.

The 5th puzzle is mastering all 6 of the Isolan herbs. The stews are the 9th puzzle gained after upgrading to Cultivation level 2, locating the hidden pot in the wood pile and setting it on the fire. Stew recipes require a combination of three of the herbs, water and a small amount of vegetables.
