How do you change Spark's fighting strategy?

How do you set him to observant? I stumbled upon this accidently once before but I cannot for the life of me remember how I did it!!!

LOL, just click into his skills and select from the drop down menu...of course once you have selected something, I'm not sure if you can change it....
