I couldn't get into V Families either, thought I'd love it but got me in the mood to start some villages and redid VV1 in 2 days, then VV2, stretched that one out a couple weeks just for fun, something to watch between intensive games.
Problem I had with families is time zone, I'm a nightowl and finally hit me why they would not go to bed, kept getting up, doing pc, looking at stars, eating, reading, watching tv LOL. Was just a demo so didn't realize I could have changed time zone to get in sync. Yeh I get this newly wed couple of insomniacs who didn't even want to stay in bed.
I just love those little people and get attached to them, the family peeps just weren't the same, maybe too close to real life stuff. What's funny is after not playing VVs a couple years I got a wide screen laptop. It kinda stretches the pic and my little people had gained a lot of weight, fat and squatty and when they walked around look like they are waddling like ducks LOL. I had to kinda watch how much they were eating. That would be a fun thing on VV4, skinny and fat.
One change I wish is changing clothes much earlier in the VV2 game, still my fav of the 3 doing the Elders. I had 4 of 6 women all in same clothes, hard to tell them apart. Hard to pick new names cuz I usually call them by how they look, a color like Scarlet or Bluebird to ID them, ran out of names. And they ALL had carrot red hair.
