Can't open doors in Oldwood (?????????????)

I entered the first tree in Oldwoods (can't remember name of the town it takes you to), and now I'm stuck way up on a wooden platform. Not sure if it's a glitch or what, but I can't seem to line up properly with the doors and they won't open whether I press the up arrow or the "enter" key. Is there a trick to this? I was able to enter two doors - that's how I got to where I am - but now no more will open and I'll have to use a rune to get out of here. If Oldwood is vital to completing the game, I'm in trouble. Help!

Hi there. Try taking a step *away* from the door, then stepping up to it again. Let me know if that doesn't make sense and I will try and explain another way...
