RTR is a Picnic Compared to MF

And I thought RTR was hard!!!

I'm so sad I bought this b/c I will probably never play it again due to the unskippable mini-games. I've finally struggled to the end & I'll never get to the beginning. Yes, I know how to play tangrams & their ilks, but these quatre-colored squares.....GRRRRRR Using the R mouse button does nothing, whacking space bar does nothing, I have no clue how to get these things to line up & move properly to end it all (metaphorically speaking).

In addition I seem to have a permanently corrupted d/l. I contacted CS & have uninstalled & reinstalled 2x as per their advice & I am stuck with this glitch in the simplest non-skippable game, the one where all you have to do is make 3-letter words! The 2nd letter I click jumps to another space & makes it impossible to create a word. So when one of those pops up I have to get everything else completely finished 1st & then hope & pray I can find all but 2 of the spiders or combs or whatever so that I can advance, b/c skipping it takes away all your hints. It was tough but I managed it, & now to be banging my head on the keyboard at the very end is just insane.

I feel so senile LOL when fishies rave on what a fabulous game something is & I just don't seem to have the L-brained capacity necessary for it to be fun instead of frustrating. I couldn't do those slider puzzles when I was a kid & I can't do em now. I'm thinking it's a birth defect ROFL

RTR was a lot of walkthru-consulting & I hate that. Madame Fate isn't anywhere near as interactive as that one, yet I think it's pretty darn hard for a basic HOG. I loved Prime Suspects & Huntsville & the earlier HE games, but the way they're progressing in difficulty & making everyone turn up their noses at "normal" games in this genre & demanding more challenging HOGs, I reckon I'll just end up content w/ my moldy oldies at a certain pt & quit buying at all. It doesn't matter how innovative or pretty a game is if it ceases being fun & ends up an exercise in frustration that you feel you must complete b/c you stupidly bought it.

I really wish would consider some sort of patch for the older MCF games that does away with the punitive elements of the game (losing hints, time, inability to skip some things), that the strategy guides were active more than 5 min w/o doubling your purchase, & that this long after the release they'd do away with the SGs entirely & just put in a walkthru already.

I'm here with you Scarlet. Where is everyone else hiding who felt the same way. I remember trying to follow a walkthrough on GZ and just looked now and seems most the screenshots have dropped out. I'm SURE I used some on puzzles, not just the text for help.

A few months ago after limping thru RTR I went back for a replay of MF feeling my brain got a bit of new wiring. It was just as hard the next time, and those finding 10s omg lightening, L's, invisible and tick tick tick, blood pressure rising. I'm curious, but will hold off awhile when MCF6 comes out, if anything like the last 2 without a walkthrough they just lost me. Puzzlers are having a field day but I don't see much left in hogplay anymore in these games. They need an alert Advanced Players Only unless you got a free coupon just stop at the demo, not responsible for brain damage.

Again, I salute the artists at but who among you are the sadists? .

Raise hands please.

ps, reading some player reviews over at GZ there was mention of a patch or newer rebuild? Says to check what v you have. You may have had a glitch in that 3 word puzzle? I know it was tricky but maybe beginner's luck, I did it, probably the only puzzle I could and the opposites. The 3 letter word one, yes when you swap letters they do switch but it is doable with enough random clicking.

May I suggest today's deal? the GHOST one to gain back your self esteem. I was going to pass cuz the timer, but what the heck, Huntsville and PrimSus had timers too and I didn't mind replaying some levels. I must have progressed because so far I've had 8-10 min left on the days. Does remind me how much I enjoyed Huntsville, and most objects big, colorful, no stumpers with plenty of hints.
(I can hear it panned boooooo in the bg, too easy too short. Great, here's my 3 bucks and for that I can scrap it at anytime.) AND one for Novemberfest

LMAO @ the self-esteem ROFL I've already got Majesty Manor, alas, & yes, it is pretty EZ now tho I'm sure at the time it wasn't. I can lick Titanic in less than an hr now where when it 1st came out I was always drowning LOL Dead's Man's Folly best get here posthaste....tho there are people who despise that sort of detective investigating suspects straight murder mystery type of HOG, too, so go figure.

Bet other folks don't want to publicly admit MF drove em round the bend And I noticed most of the screenshots disappeared & was all o great TYVM GZ

Gonna go curse at Babylon LOL & then GRRRR some more at Vampire Saga (I ran out of sparkly piles so it's walkthru time there as well....this is what I get for being a sucker for a period piece).
