Where is the large, light coloured dowel?

I'm at the vice and I've cut all the pieces for the key except this one. I have no clue where it is and have searched most of the castle and grounds for it. Is the game just screwing with me. It also says I'm missing a few thing when I zoom in on the vice if that helps at all. Thanks!

The dowel is made from something else. Stand facing the front door and look to your left.

have looked everywhere and can not find it. it is not by the front door, i think it was left out my game
