The watering can in the fountain

Just FYI: the walkthrough says to pick up a cane next to the fountain, as a tool to pick up the watering can. I never saw the cane and just used the wire I already had in my inventory, and it worked.

Cool. The game has a lot of depth that way, there are several places where you can use more than one object to accomplish the same task, just as in real life.

I used the ladle to get the watering can.

what threw me off was that it didn't look like a fountain to me, just a statue with lots of flowers. Oh well

The walkthrough is wrong if it says fountain. The man with the cane is in front of just a statue. There is a fountain but it is much later on.

After she speaks to the old man at the statue and leaves, when you come back there is a cane under the park bench he was sitting on. Glad you managed to get thru anyway!
