finding foot/finger prints

I keep replaying this game and often hit snags ie: in one room, I can't find finger/foot prints; tried to shut off the light and use tools but can't even get the lights to turn off. what's the problem? ladytramp

i am having the same problem.

it was suggested to click on a lamp, light switch or the drapes....none of this works, there is no lamp, no light switch and clicking on the drapes does not work.
help please.

I have done it twice and can't find the footprints either. I have just about clicked on every space in the circle.
