the only time i have had the chicken and fries (as an example) go on two different plates is when one of the items was raw.
try this:
put chicken on grill then while it is cooking put the fries in the vat. when chicken is done (soon as circle turns green) click chicken. it will go on a plate, then when the circle turns green under the fries click it. they will go on the same plate and then you can serve.

Hi there tndenni, to make fried chicken and french fries you need to place first the potatoes at the left side to frie, the go fast to the right corner, take the chicken and put it to frie. When the clock is all in green, click on the fries to get it on the plate and rush to the right to pick up the chicken.
Best thing to have is faster stoves!
