How do you get into invertory Is there any hints bar. No instruction on how to play the game. Please help

HOW DO YOU GET TO THE MENU TO QUIT THE GAME. I HAVE TO USE EXC KEY.
AND THEN THE GAME KEEPS COMING BACK ON.

The inventory you can get it by right-clicking.. and the menu you just hit ESC!!
