After a time, I moved into Cassandra's room. I should have the bottle of sugar. However, I see it on the screen--on a part of the open door. And I am not able to pick it up. It's as if it dropped into the game and not my inventory.
As a result, the game is over for me without the ability to use this item (bottle of sugar) to get other objects and move forward in the game.
Of course, and I am thinking of doing this, I could start from scratch and spend a few hours to get to this spot again. But I fear something in this game may have 'bombed'.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? What if I restart the game and the same problem occurs when I check out her room?
I have a Mac and use OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.4.
Any help to avoid restarting the game would be appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear that there is some trouble progressing in this particular game with an item not being able to be picked up.
