Adult Family-type HOGS?

[Post New]by FrankMorgan on Oct 4, 08 7:10 AM
I have Sprill, Hidden Explorer, lots of Nancy Drew and a couple of others. Would like suggestions on more HOGs that do not include 'magic, spells, witchcraft' type of stuff. Love the HOGs. Thanks.

FrankMorgan, welcome to the Fish Pond. BFG has a huge selection of HO's. You can sort by game type so only the HO's come up on the download screen. And then start and the top to play the demos.
... I'd highly recommend the Mystery Case Files series ... they are all great. Madame Fate is my #1 favorite. The new Azada - Ancient Magic is fun ... based on storybooks with a very different approach to gameplay. And Azada is excellent with terrifically hard puzzles.
............................Happy Gaming

Madam Fate and other one are both into "magic" and that is what I want to avoid. Have also done Agatha Christie ones and Hidden Expedition- Amazon was excellent. Really enjoy the HOGS especially long, difficult ones but not the 'darker' side of things.

while the game is called Azada: Ancient magic, it is not mystical, magical like madame fate,
it is more related to the story books that you dive into.
that being said I fully respect your position on this and if it is not for you, then it is not for you.

have you tried The Clumsys or The Scruffs?

I think both of those are pretty fun and very light-hearted

BFG has a section of kids games ...

Family HOs I've enjoyed include

Can You See What I See - uses photos of object jumbles, w riddle puzzles & a final word game

I Spy games - (not at BFG?) 3 child-themed mini-games per HOG use photo dioramas; I had Fantasy with knights, space aliens & mermaids, but there are other titles

Holly A Christmas Tale - been a while, but I recall cute graphics & relevant searches

Mushroom Age - silly time travel story w moving objects, a spot o history, puzzle HOs, mini-games

Neverland - (only demo'd this) find cute cartoon toys that start bouncing to catchy music; recent BFG release (does have mean bad guys, DK how it ends, but I'd bet on the good guys)

Travelogue 360 games - 360 degree viewpoint of real places w history notes

Big City Adventure games - travel to landmarks in cities like Sydney & San Francisco, w history & mini-games

Amazing Relics, Treasures Masters, Amazing Adventure Lost Tomb - good treasure hunts w bonuses

Non-HO family games:

Fizzball - bat & ball; help the professor collect all the endangered animals; mini-games, animal facts, cute graphics & bouncy music

Babel - (not at BFG) build a tower playing 25 different word games (random choice) such as word recognition, typing, word seek, diagramless fill, in or practice just one; start w 5 games, open others as tower height reaches keys

Thanks but I am only interested in the HO games AND adult not for kids.

I really enjoyed "Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes". "Detective Stories - Hollywood" might also interest you.
