You were in easy mode. In hard mode, you have to find the right outfit.
Oh, goody! *claps fins* I was hoping this was the case, of course I'll need to wait a while cuz I'll remember them all this soon. What other differences are there between hard and easy? No sparkly cursor maybe? Longer hint refill? No skips on min-games? Just wondering. I like thias game so much I will definitly play it over and will go for Hard the 2nd time probably.

Hahhaaa, I'm not sure about the differences since I haven't bought the game yet + I did not play easy mode. The HO would sparkle when the cursor got near it. I don't think the cursor itself sparkled. I can't remember about skipping any mini games since they were so easy, I never thought about it.

I would say no. It is really more of an Adventure game than an HO game, where all objects found are for puzzles and they are not exactly hidden, just small. HO beginners should start with Mystery Case Files and Hidden Expedition games imo. Going in order would probably be a good idea too.

ecblisa wrote:I agree that this is not really an HO game, more of a puzzle game with a little HO fun thrown in. I liked some of the puzzles a lot. (Wiring the decoder is the kind of logic puzzle I enjoy, and the "star" puzzle was interesting. I beat the Germans at the naval battle eventually, but I had to skip the "trap the rat" game because I am totally useless at those. I did think the repetitive "match the colors" decoding was boring.) From reading all the comments, I gather this is a game you either hate or love. I found it quite entertaining, it had a fair bit of historical accuracy for a game, and the hidden objects actually had something to do with the story line, which is WAY rare. But I would not suggest this game to anyone who is looking for serious HO action.
Yep, I'm in the "loved this game" group. By the Naval Battle game do you mean the very last one played against the site impaired General? (how many boys you know shaped like that?! ) I could NOT do that. Only one I skipped. Had not the remotest idea how to be successful. The secret to trap the rat is build way out closing in the far perimiter so he can't get to the edge, then work in. I think it's very cool all the puzzles are available from main menu.

Thanks for the hint about the rat game, Poodlebear. I'll surely keep trying on that one. Like you said, nice we can do that without replaying the whole thing to get one more try.
About the naval battle -- yes, it's that thing at the end. I thought at first you were supposed to put the map together correctly, and I kept not getting it, then my husband (an even better map fan than I am, whose help I solicited as he walked by) said "that couldn't be it, the map is already together." So I clicked on the help function, and it said I had to block "their" ships by getting five ships in a row. The one thing I finally figured out is that once you let "them" get 4 in a row, you can never win, because they will always get #5 on the next move no matter what you do, so the secret is not to work on rows, but all over. I wish I had a secret to impart, but I won it mostly by avoiding making the same mistake again and again. It's a very original game, because you can only add ships from the margin by using the arrows, not put them wherever you like.

I fear after playing RTR I'll never find an HO game I like again...
I definitely agree about RTR!! And silhouettes! But I liked the demo enough that I think I'll wind up purchasing.

Once you have collected everything a "Face" puzzle will appear- when it's correct, It will tell you which drawer to open.

Greetings to all my fellow fishies from the mountains of Romania. I am playing or trying to play this game. I am stuck in the banquet hall. I have steamed the glass on the rifle cabinet and came up with 3 numbers, 2 6 3. I noticed one of you said to take the key and open the drawers in order 1-6, but the cursor only indicates that the glass doors open and there are only 3 of them. All I keep getting is " something else is needed ". What do I do with the 3 numbers? the hint only points to the cabinet...that's no help. If there were 6 to open, I would try opening them in the order of 2 then 6 and then 3, but there aren't 6 there are only 3 that can open. Holding the key over the glass doors does nothing either. Help
I had no problem with the download, it took less than 30 minutes. The only problem other than the above, was the mini game where you were to switch the roosters with the lions.....I could not get that one to work, so, I skipped it. And if any of you have noticed, the cursor is so long, that it is very easy to hit the hint, when you did not mean to hit it, be careful.

You have to steam all 6 doors- then use the key to open them in numerical order
