If you intend on finding all of the secret bonus areas, do it sooner rather than later as the cost of wacking the bushes rises as you level up.

You are limited to 5 small energy packs, so it's use-them-or-lose-them time. You get more every 24 or so hours (not exactly sure of the timing, but I know it's more than the standard BuhsWhacker 20-hour day).

You are also limited to 25 large energy packs and 200 Amicus Island tokens. Earn any more and they don't count .

Hi dinsb01,

Thanks for these tips. They have helped a lot.

Good Luck everyone and Happy Whacking!

If you receive super blueberry seeds as a reward for a quest save them for when an event rolls round, it makes a world of difference to your energy, thus helping you to get further in the event.

Please note that if you have 25 or more of the super blueberry seeds in your inventory you won't receive any more in the satchels, but if you plant some to get your total to under 25 you will get more.

When I was scrolling through the achievements, I finally remembered you can hold the shift key when going through your inventory/alchemy/pets/achievements to get to the next "page" of items. *face palm*

Kittypurrrs,

If you hold Ctrl/Shift and click the right arrow, you can go to the very end.

This is especially helpful when playing mini golf if your pet is in the way, or if your headgear obscures your view.

Open Inventory, click on your pet/headgear, hold down Ctrl/Shift, and click on the right arrow. It takes you to the end where there is an empty space to place your pet/headgear.

Oh, and don't forget your pet when you leave the golf course. I've done it several times.

Hope this helps.

I had thought there was an error, being the 20 critters in the PAGAS quest were completed well before the 20 grubs in Hermit's quest. Others may also want to know that Justin clarified how that can happen:

"Quests that require you to whack generic "critters" count any moving whackable, which in addition to the normal grubs, bees, etc. also includes bandits, snakes, hawks etc. from daily quests. "

@Discus: Thanks Discus. This is my favourite help thread on all of the BW2 forums, and can be even more helpful than Wiki at times, as it gives hints for gameplay rather than just descriptions of items and repeated narration.

Chat

[Post New]by Kittypurrrs on Nov 10, 15 2:37 PM
I have been having a lot of trouble with chat on Amicus Isle (AI), and notice it more than most as I am trying to advise players their golf courses great, broken or unplayable. I have been rebooting several times until it works and tried to press enter as Wiki suggests, but that just erased what I wrote.

FINALLY I found that if I copy what I write, (it is almost always erased the first time I press enter) then press send, and/or enter, that pressing send or enter again after pasting ... it usually works fine. It is still a pain but better than refreshing 3 times! There is also a keyboard shortcut to the full screen that I type in often, and I would like to STOP it from happening. Does anyone know what the keys are so I can avoid doing it as I chat?

Addendum: I have been advised that the shortcut key for Full screen is to simply click "f".

I also just discovered late in the game, that if you or another player are standing in the water balloon game area you cannot click on them or others even outside the game area! ACK!

For those of you reading who are new, I am referring to the chat line available only on Amicus Isle. (With a send button as well as a chat history triangular button to see a record of what you have said ) There is also a chat room to discuss the game and make friends, to the bottom right of the game window should you not have found it yet.

Edited to make my horrible grammar a little less horrible

Inventory limits list

[Post New]by Kittypurrrs on Nov 13, 15 11:23 AM
Most of these limits in inventory have been mentioned elsewhere, so I take NO CREDIT, other than having placed them in list:

Inventory limits list

*limit of 5 small energy packs per day, refilled at midnight (Pacific) time. Use or lose them

Most of these limits can be surpassed if you are UNDER the allowed limit at the time of the win/reward. (as an example, assure you are just under the limit if saving large energy so you can still earn more and not miss out, like the Nate 6 packs)

*25 large energy packs, 200 Amicus Island tokens, 100 hay,

*bags of Mana and Power 100 max or, your bar space filled.

*Super Blueberries 10% of your level (rounded up) … but prize can be doubled as I found out last week. You have a limit of 25 in your inventory, or you will not get another set, so keep it at 24 if you intend to save them) Now that the top levels have been raised, this may no longer be valid. Can anyone say if the super blueberry cap is also raised 30?

*Currently, there is no limit to Casino Prize Tokens.

*You can only have 5 medieval meals on hand at a time

FYI: there is so much more to learn from this thread, so be sure to also read it through for more information.

~ One thing I found, that I do not see mentioned here, is that if you make the mistake of un-equipping the mana and power max trinkets after receiving the power and mana bags that fill your bars (up to 100) you can quickly add them back and still have it intact. However if you do not do it right away you will lose the boost! (And yes, I learned all this the hard way, as usual )

~ Don't forget to use up energy when close to leveling, before collecting your quest rewards. Quest rewards often contain a lot of XP and although the xp will carry over, anything in your energy bar is wasted and not carried over. I am reiterating this because energy is so important to the game.

~ If you decide to do the hermit's quest for his quest pouch reward, here are a few hints to try:

The quest reward resets daily, although it can be the same one many days in a row.. so check and see. Talk to the town crier and YOU decide whether to do it or not. I no longer do all his quests, but on days when I have leveled and have full energy , and am done all quests, why not?

If you are already in the N/S Evergreen area to do an event/quest search or, if you are completing a different hermit quest, you can do quick whacks until you get slugs, then, whack only bushes and leave the slugs in the field for the next hermit "Exterminator" grub quest. (reminder: no grubs in the SBA area or 5th fields as those are spiders only, but you can use both N and S evergreen for Hermit quests, as well as fish on the first fields of both to help complete quests) Thus far the game has remembered that I left the grubs there and it is satisfying to have that quest done in only a few whacks. This is fun for me, but you may find it tedious so just a suggestion to TRY.

The Hermit weedwhacker ( 20 weeds) needs whacks between collecting so get the quest, do most of the whacking (2 quick 1+ 3) in your present incomplete field, then return to N/S evergreen to get the weeds. No waste of whacks in a completed field, but it takes a lot of travel back and forth so only do on days you have the time!

~I have reread this entire thread often as some items that were not pertinent to me during the first reading now are, so I recommend you do as well.

I have not gotten there yet, but, the Spring Thicket SBA rune maker, Derringer, will make a Perfect rune with bonus of 60%, for 20 alike small powders every 30.5 days.

You can use the the mounts and the mayor as a reminder to check and see if you have the vials to make it, as it is a pretty great rune to have.

Flybaby got this information to add to the inventory limits post

Mutated berries and peppers: unlimited [confirmed with Justin]

Fertilizer: unlimited [also confirmed].

Sanctuary sandwiches: 5 at any given time, the same as medieval feasts from the cloud hub.

VIP vouchers: Unknown. They are very rare and often used for events. (A player PMed to say they had accumulated 30+)

Thanks Kitty... This is the best Tip ever!!! I haven't been back since the first time I did it, because the Wiki states, "Spoiler: Solving the puzzle frees a fellow named Derringer. He offers you the one-time(?) opportunity to make a Perfect Rune. "

Although, in hindsight, I should have gone back to check, because after you get the rune, Derringer says, " Come back in a month or five, and we'll make another one."

I did go back today, and I do have the opportunity to make another perfect rune, so I edited the wiki to reflect that.

The rune lasts 30 days, 12 hours, so when it expires, that can serve as a reminder to go back and make another. However, I'm not sure if you have to use your rune before being able to make another rune of the same type or if you can save more than one in your inventory.

Kitty, I have had as many as 9 VIP vouchers.

Oh a big 'DUH' for me, Kitty, when reading about Derringer in the 'Spring Thicket'. I was there many months ago and enjoyed this little wizard creating me a wonderful mana rune, which I still have. I know I understood that I could go back in thirty days but guess what, I forgot and your reminder is just wonderful. I have spent a good part of the last two days creating a second mana rune with Derringer and will be there every thirty days. It's actually a nice break from the 'flux'.

It never ceases to amaze me that players such as yourself, have such valuable information for all of us...especially since you have not even gotten to this point yet. You will enjoy this area when you arrive and also "The Summer Village.... many good things and a good looking guy with a halo on the river too! Hmmm, wonder who?

Thank you Miss Kitty,

Teddy

Thanks Flybaby! I just got a PM from a player who has well over 30 VIP vouchers accumulated as she saved them for quests later and then forgot about them!

Edit to add: thanks for the compliment below. You are too kind! *blushes*

Teddy, a good looking guy with a halo? Forget the game, send me one of those in real, please! I like to read and learn as much about any game I play as I can, and this is by far my favourite at this time. I also like to pass on any hints I see. Community spirit you might say. That one was provided by Erika on another platform ... so I figured I would not leave Bigfish players out of the loop for that reminder.

An editor on the Wiki just posted an update (or correction) regarding Derringer's Perfect Rune.

At the end of the quest, Derringer says, "Come back in a month or five, and we'll make another one."
The Wiki editor's update states, "The 'month or five' is actually a 180 day [6 month] cooldown. There is no timer as of yet, so you must remember to check back on your own."

I'm wondering if this quest will refresh at different random times, so I will plan on checking it monthly, just in case.

This seems to be a faster way to get to Amicus Isle instead of using the teleporter:

Click on the Town Crier.

Click on What's the Latest News?

Click on Visit Merchants.

Hope this helps someone.
