Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches technical issues

If you are having problems getting the game to work correctly, we highly recommend going to our Help pages. Using our Help pages is always the quickest way to get technical problems resolved. Here are a few suggested articles that have helped many people correct these types of problems in the past:

While we can offer a known solution for technical issues in the forums, or other tech savy pond residents can swim by with good tips and suggestions, we cannot provide the same excellent level of support provided by our Customer Support team. The forums are not very well suited for the kinds of information gathering and troubleshooting that get these types of issues corrected quickly. If there is a problem with the game, our Support Team can also gather necessary information on what types of computers are being affected by the problem and deliver this information to the developer for a fix.

Hi All

To all of you who have downloaded the trial version of Rhiannon but are getting stuck when you try to use a save from the trial version to continue your quest - we are working on a better solution but for now, we are pretty certain that the problem is in the saves from the trial. If you start again with a new game, you shouldn't have the same problems with items not going into your inventory.

Please accept my apologies for this. Being a gamer myself, I know how frustrating it is to have to do part of a game over again, but this is the best solution until we can update Big Fish with a new version of the trial.

I got stuck in the beginning of the game, in the room with the red cabinet doors. Once there, the timer came on (like the game was trying to download?) and I couldn't get out of it. I quit the game, restarted and it stuck in the same place again. I quit and deleted the game after that. This type of game is challenging for me and can be frustrating but I am persistant and use the walk through to help. So I do like them, it does take me longer than an hour to complete and I don't mind that. Makes the game worth my money. However, very frustrating when it locks up and I have to reboot.

I can't seem to get things in my inventory. And what I mean by that is I'll pick stuff up and I can hear it go into inventory, then in little green script I get this message up by the MENU button: "Runtime script error. View logs for details." This started in Chapter 2.

I have no idea how to view the logs. I looked for a patch but there doesn't seem to be one yet. I don't know if it's my video card or a game bug. Should I just uninstall and reinstall and hope for the best or is there another solution to this? Everything else seems to be working fine. But I can't get very far without my inventory items.

Hi Stubadingdong

There is a technical problem with the saved games created in the trial which is causing the problem you mention. We are working on a solution for those who have yet to download the full version but (you're going to hate me for this) you will need to restart the game and ignore any saves that you already have stored.

I'm afraid this is the only way as there is no problem with the full game - only the saved files from the trial.

Once you start again, any new saves will work fine but you mustn't under any circumstances go back and use any of the saves you already have or you will reintroduce the glitch.

I can only apologise but hope you will forgive our mistake and continue to play Rhiannon.

I a also having the problem of getting items into y inventory.. however I have purchased the full game and have already uninstalled and reinstalled... is there anything i can do. I cannot go any further in my game without the items i have 'picked up'

Hi Christine

The full version will work fine if you start a new game and make sure you don't use any of your saves from when you were playing the trial version.

It is only the saved games from the trial that is stopping you adding items to your inventory.

Just bought the full version and see the advice to start again from the beginning. Is there any chance you have an idea when a solution to this problem might become available?

I'm afraid that even when the trial version is updated, it won't help you because your saves are already holding the glitch. So whatever we do, we can only ask you to start again. Even if you downloaded the new trial version, you'd still have to start again. I'm so sorry about this.

Is there any way I could perhaps send you a saved game? I'd need to know how far you had already got in the trial and I'm worried that it might confuse you if the save I send you is not exactly what you'd done already. If you had got to the end of chapter 1 and were told that the trial was over, then I could simply send you a 'start of chapter 2' save.

Anyway, if you email us at [email address removed by Moderator] we can see what we can do.

I just got the same message - but have been playing in the full version for some time now, the message came to me when I tried to pick up the crayons and the papir..

Do I really need to start over?

Yes, I'm afraid so. The saves start to affect the game when you begin chapter 2 and so you wouldn't have had a problem until you tried to pick up the crayons and tracing paper. So sorry, I know this is a pain but I can send you a saved game from the start of chapter 2 if you email us at [email address removed by Moderator].

We're on UK time so it's evening here now. If you do email us it may be morning before we get back to you. It may be quicker to romp through the game from the beginning now that you know what you need to do. But please don't be tempted to use any saves from the trial version as these will cause the glitch to recur.

Thanks...however, I have the full version, and the problem started in chapter one...where picking up the ladder in the storeroom didn't work. And of course, when getting to chapter two, numerous problems prohibit progressing with the game. Are you SURE that if I start entirely over that it will run ok?

I just want to pop in and remind everyone that if you are having technical problems with this game, it's really best to go through our Customer Support department so they can work with you to troubleshoot. It's possible that any fix or patch downloaded from a different website may not work with our game manager, so it's best to get in touch directly with Big Fish Games tech support to resolve any issues you're having with a particular game.

Yes, I'm sure your game will run fine if you select new game from the main menu once you've downloaded the full version.

The problem was created in the trial and so all saves from the trial also cause the same problem in the full version. So long as you don't use any saved games you created in the trial, and start creating new saves, it will run fine. The glitch is on the stepladder in chapter 1 because the place you need to use it is not available in the trial version.

If you prefer, I can email you a saved game from the start of chapter 2 that will allow you to continue without starting over. Let me know at [email address removed by Moderator]. Unfortunately, it's 10.40pm here now so it may be morning before we can send it to you.

It seems to me the "Trial version" will either MAKE you buy or delete it! I chose to delete it! If I can't play the demo and see how I like the game, I'm certainly NOT going to buy it to see if's it better..

Also, even before I got to 'snags' I wasn't allowed to go certain places because I was told something like 'this area open in full version". What's that all about?

Why would BF even put a game up for download knowing it had all these issues? I'm so disappointed, don't you guys check the games before you approve them for your site?

I had read all the warnings posted about a glitch, but now that the tracing paper and crayons are missing from my inventory too ,I see what you are talking about. I gather that I will have to start all over too. It took me forever to get to this point !!! I am a bit confused, but I suppose I have no choice.

I have to say I'm not overly happy at now having to start over. I paid for this game - seems like a bit of a waste of my time and money to be perfectly honest.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game after not being able to pick up the crayons and paper. Now I am at the point where i am Transforming objects by consumption. I could pick up the crown and the charm, but now i cant pick up the sword, cradle, or toy horse. Please don't tell me to start over again! I am not happy! The Glitch isn't only in the free trial. Let me know how to contine or how to get a refund!

Please see my reply on the other thread where you mentioned this. I don't think it's a bug if you've not yet got the Mabinogion paper from the workshop drawer. The crown and claw are collectable because you have read about the claw in Rhiannon's diary in the car and you have managed to solve the puzzle to get the crown. The other items are dependant on you knowing what their relevance is to the story - which is told in the Mabinogion paper.

Let me know if this is the case so we can let others know that it's not a bug.
