Failed to use hex coin

In scene with reagent, picked up the solvent form but didnot use the hex coin as listed in the strategy guide. Thus missed the amulet part in the scene. When left scene, cannot return to get the amulet part--and the story is blocked.

Also had to reinstall the game several times before it would complete. Using Window 10 on a PC.
