Money, money, MONEY!

How do people pay for all these new areas that need to be opened at the cost of $6000 and $6400 all at the same time that new items are required, costing $4000?

I just don't get it and I can't afford to pay any more into this "free" game.
It's fun and all, but this gets a bit frustrating after awhile especially when one has some real-life money concerns.

Gah!

Hi RowanGolightly,

I can only speak for myself. Its easy as I just keep waiting for the for new updates or content to come out. I've been on level 74 for a little time now. Players on 74 have probably completed the update and are just collecting the coin needed for the next update. Hang in there, you'll get there.

Basically, do the rounds of HOS, over & over & over.
Collect flowers in every room.
Feed your best pets.
Send the airship.
There are also so things you can craft for profit.
But first, before all of these, you have to do the rounds.

You don't open new level just because its there. Just see what you need then play the rounds of HO's until you have more than enough to buy in. You build inventory and make money. The game lasts longer and there is less stress. Happy gaming. TOAD488631 / Otter595396 playing on PC

Slow and steady "wins" the race.... it's that desire to see what's next that can get to you but... it's not the destination, it's the journey.... the game isn't going anywhere... I stopped questing one time for almost 4 months last year and JUST did the rounds.. actually, it about this time last year... hmmm... time flies.... Aaanywho... with the fall and winter events right around the corner, I focused on those instead of the character quests... When winter was over, I had built up enough coins to "almost" make it from level 51 to level 71... almost... I did have to stop a couple of times and do the rounds for a few days but.... if you will allow yourself to stop leveling up... you will eventually see, you don't have to spend money on the character quests.... I know it's tedious but the "pain" now, will pay off in the long run....

After going broke in the 40s because I got caught up in the story & didn't pay attention, I have made a point to earn what I need BEFORE I spend it.

For instance, I just got to the Dark Tower & there's LOTS of new stuff to open & other changes that cost a lot. I added it all up & its 61,000 coins, not counting crafting I'll have to do. And that's just right now, for starters.

So, even though I'm SOOO curious to open it all, I'm on hold until I earn all of that 61k.

This game takes patience & discipline.

I am on level 62, my strategy is exactly what Desertdruid states in her post, I also refer to the Midnight Castle Strategy Guide which helps me look to see how much I need when I am fulfilling character's tasks. This helps me a lot.

Take it from somebody who was in a hurry to get to the land of waiting. The best advice is to slow down and earn the coins by doing the hos. Know that for those of us who are at the top levels at one time had little to go on. I can say it was more fun when I had achievements to work on and new areas to open. Build your airship items and pet foods. Rely on friends to help you out. I now have 100,000 coins and won't let myself go below that. I am earning what I need to move on which is what works in real life also. You don't need to spend real money to advance in this game if you have patience.

Thanks! I'm only at 30 so I've got a long way to go. I'll be spending less time at it for awhile as my work is really busy now!

I'll have to go look at that. Thank you, hadn't considered that.

Hi Rowan

Don't give up. I haven't spent real money and have recently reached level 74.

I would set myself a limited amount to spend, then do the rounds until I made it back and so on. And as in real life I always had to keep a nest egg just in case. Silly maybe but it made me feel better.
I also took one of my second games to level 23 where I could craft Ancestors Spirits to gift my main game daily. That really helped. I would cash them in all at the same time and that helped with the Achievement.

And never underestimate the power of good friends. Mine have been great

RowanGolightly....

If you want to know the total cost for each level (well, it was current when posted....there was some "level balancing" in a recent update that may change some things)....

Anyway, if you want total cost for all levels....check out this thread:

In mine second game I managed to achieve 41 level for short time. My friends help - with crafted items, ( I use strategy guide to see what will I need) , and one more thing:
I have all HOS open but not all ZZ. When I finish all HOS I just feed pets and they bring the item that I need to finish the quest. I have 9 ZZ that I didn't open, (around 8000 each) and mine snowman or horse never misses.

If you really need money (and you do), add an egg to your wish list. Since they put eggs on the WOF, many friends have extra to gift 1 or 2.

Just keep plugging away until you have the gold. Two or three rounds of the HOS do it, I find.

However, you may not even need to do that. Play the dice, spin the wheel, and feed pets when you have enough food. I've been experiencing that those three sources often -- and I do mean often -- bring me the thing I needed from the HOS or ZZ I was saving up gold for.

Some day I will be top level. That day is not today and will take a little while. That's okay. Having fun playing meantime and no i'm not spending real cash. I did a bit at the beginning but I got over that. Of course, this does sell their other games, particularly the spin-offs. They should do more of that.

Norry, that is brilliant! I wish I'd known to do that back when I was at that level.

Sometimes I wish I could start over, just so I could do it differently & take advantage of opportunities like that. I've learned so much the hard way.
