New Build for Cassandra's Journey: The Legacy of Nostradamus

[Post New]by bfgBering on Oct 14, 08 9:05 AM
Hullo Fishies!

I just thought I'd let you know that we have received a new build of Cassandra's Journey: The Legacy of Nostradamus from its developers. It addresses the problems many of you are having with cards not appearing where they should.

The new build has been tested here at Big Fish Games, and is available for download on the site now!

Here is our help topic that explains how to download a new build of a game you already own.

Uninstall / Reinstall a Game

Happy gaming !

Among other things, using updated build you can turn off some special effects so that the game wasn't working so slowly on your computers.

Well that did not work for me on the puzzle pieces! Theres still 4 pieces left that have to be turned!! I have taken all the suggestions this forum had to offer, Ive uninstalled and reinstalled twice, including the latest rebuild today. Yes the new decelleration box got unchecked along with the custom cursor---to no avail. I did notice improvements in the motion of the game though. I have a new computer that has Windows Vista, maybe the game is incompatible with it. Ive purchased over 70 games with Big Fish and this is the first one that Ive had problems with. It would be nice if the game tech would just have the all the puzzle pieces so they dont have to be turned. But then what will I run into past level 30???? Doubleclicking doesnt respond either-----------any other suggestions??? Thanks, mbiskit1

I have Vista and played all the way through with no issues. I did have a little trouble turning the puzzle pieces. A quick double left click was what worked for me. Sorry you're having problems with this. Good Luck

Took forever to download even high speed cable. The play was slow like one frame of film at a time.
FIX - deselect special cursor and the video effects offered.
I chose Windowed, then it changed but reduced in size, couldn't maximize it but it played at normal speed. As iff my small monitor and eyes are poor enogh on full screen . I thought they got the wrong list, couldn't see one item so small until a random "what the heck is that?" curiousity click found the vodka I wouldn't have known right size.

Went back to Options, clicked full screen and when it went back to game all was normal, fast play etc. Must be the cursor and visuals to switch off, at least on my Vista laptop.

Only other hangup was completing some level, maybe 3rd, the 2 next ones were locked (padlock) and it said to open them must complete the first leve. HUH? I just did. I clicked Menu, Resume game or Play and it opened a lock on the next location, a Park, so am progressing.

Really is a cute game, fun, different, simple but good mix of minis. I like the hint systems, 3 kinds to buy when you find gems to spend. Besure to click Help on first screen which explains about gems to buy hints, wasn't on tutoial so far. Skip dialogue, timed or untimed, think I'll buy it now after an hour.

Scuse typos, sticky keyboard, tried to fill in some missing letters, may have skipped some. Time to shop for kb, I wear them out fast.

I downloaded it and played it all the way through with no problems whatsoever. I play a lot of games and have had problems with some of them so it's refreshing to find a game which works so well on my computer. I have Windows XP. The only thing I found slow were the transitions where a 'cloud' appears between levels. Aside from that it played beautifully.

I found it to be hard enough to hold my interest but not obscure like some of the other games I've played. Sometimes with HOGs things are hidden in such a way that they are invisible until you use a hint - black object hidden in black shadow for example. I had to look hard for some of the objects but there weren't too many I needed to use clues to find. There are three kinds of clues btw - the object itself, the area where the object is, and a magic wand that lights up when you get close to the object. You collect gems to buy more clues with and there are plenty of gems.

I've seen a lot of criticism of this game and although I respect the views of my fellow fishes I loved it and am looking forward to playing it again. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something deep, dark and complex. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a light, relaxing, gently stimulating game like this one.

A lot of thought went into this game and the art work is lovely. Thank you for making it today's (31.10.09) Daily Deal
