I haven't bought Cassandra but my daughter enjoyed it and would probably like me to get it, she loves the mysteryville series although I didn't buy any of those. I did by Bermuda and she enjoyed going through that with me. I have younger children and the shorter games are fun for them. Not for everyone, I know.....but for $7 I feel it's worth it.

Could not agree more....too simplistic for my taste. Sorry I got it. I was somewhat intrigued though by the magic tricks...would love to know how that guy always figured out what card I had picked and then took it away.

dont know if you have got the message how it is done
but will do it again
all cards are picture cards
take a good look at the 1st set and jot them down
now look at the 2nd set and jot these down
you will see that none of them match
he presto your card will not be among the 2nd lot but neither will ant of the others?
i think this is the one your talking about

I loved it and happily paid $2.99 for it. (It's the Daily Deal today 31.10.09) Cassandra is beautiful, clever, mysterious and not intimidated by anyone. Nostrodamus's magic tricks intrigued me and I was able to work out how some of them were done. Might even try them on a friend or two. There were loads of different puzzles to play in addition to the HOG sections. There were different ways to look for the objects too - words, riddles, silhouettes. There were gems to look for that you could buy clues with. It can be played relaxed or timed. The art work was beautiful and inventive. The music was atmospheric but not intrusive. I liked the voices too.
I appreciate that people's tastes vary but I think it's unfair to criticise it so much when there must be other people like me who would enjoy it. If you think you might like it then try the demo. Don't let other people put you off

He removed your card because he removed all the cards. He switched out the jack of diamonds with the jack of hearts, club king with spade king and so on.

If you look at the first set of cards (write down what they are) and make your pick when the second set appears ALL of the cards have been changed and rearranged. If there was a queen of hearts it will be replaced with a queen of diamonds, all you notice is a red queen and not the suit.

I think the game was OK but nothing special. It was definitely too short, but I went ahead and bought as the daily special, as it was worth $2.99 for me.
I found the magic tricks kind of annoying, as I'd run into many of them before, and even if I didn't know exactly how they were done, it was pretty obvious that most of them had to do with counting or really basic mathematics.
They were especially annoying during the demo hour - I felt they were wasting my limited time to play and get a feel for the real game, not the 'bonus' stuff. I'd have preferred if the tricks were unlocked by playing the game but weren't part of the game itself, so you could keep playing if you didn't want to see them.
They really felt like padding, so that the game could be more levels than it was. It's already a shorter game than it should be, so having non-game levels was even more of an annoyance.
If I'd paid full price, I'd have considered it a rip off. I'd played the demo when the Mac version came out, but I'm glad I read reviews and didn't pick it up right away.

Yeah, I think it's a waste of money even at $2.99, might be good for a beginner though!!
I now know to look in at the forums before I purchase in the future.
General comment not directed at Marcie2304 specifically
Have you ever thought how much time and effort goes into making a game like this? Did you notice how beautiful the art work was? Did you stop to think that someone had to create that and all the hidden objects that went with it? Did you ever think that someone worked out a story line and decided which mini games to include with it? How long do you think it would any of us to put something like this together, if any of us could?
I think we should all be grateful to and the creators of this and other games that we get them so cheaply. $6.99 is nothing compared to all the work that goes into making and marketing the games
