Stairs to refreshment area in Oceanarium?

I LOVE this game, but am stuck in the Oceanarium. I am trying to get upstairs to the refreshment area. The walkthrough says to click on the stairs. Well, I have clicked repeatedly on several spots on the stairs, but nothing happens. Can anyone help, please? Thanks in advance.

Never mind. I reloaded the game, and now have access to the stairs.

I have now finished the game and look forward to the next installation! Great game!
